Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Vandalism--Feb. 10, 8:09 a.m., 600 block of Harrow Way. Someone damaged a property with a fire extinguisher.

Vandalism--Feb. 10, 3:41 a.m., 500 block of N. Bayview Avenue. Someone spray-painted, egged and dented property during the night.

Battery--Feb. 9, 10:15 p.m., 600 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. A police officer saw a man pushing his girlfriend near a McDonald's.

Theft--Feb. 9, 3:21 p.m., 200 block of E. Washington Avenue. Someone stole a bottle of alcohol and fled to the Pacific Inn of Sunnyvale parking lot.

Theft--Feb. 9, 12:36 p.m., 100 block of E. Fremont Avenue. Someone stole a wallet with four credit cards and $80 in cash from a fitness locker at Nautilus Health Club.

Robbery--Feb. 9, 9:25 a.m., W. California Avenue at N. Mathilda Avenue. A robbery was reported.

Fighting--Feb. 8, 9:07 p.m., 900 block of Henderson Avenue. A woman's ex-husband broke into her apartment.

Identity theft--Feb. 8, 8:22 p.m., 1300 block of Navarro Drive. Someone illegally used the victim's identity.

Counterfeit money--Feb. 8, 5:25 p.m., 900 block of E. Duane Avenue. Someone reported that a business cashed a check using a fake $100 bill.

Robbery--Feb. 8, 3:51 p.m., 1100 block of E. Arques Avenue. Someone held up a teller at the Union Bank of California.

Theft--Feb. 8, 2:57 p.m., 900 block of Henderson Avenue. A 62-year-old woman said her son stole her debit card and used it to steal her money.

Auto theft--Feb. 8, 11:53 a.m., 900 block of E. Evelyn Avenue. Someone stole a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta.

Auto theft--Feb. 7, 11:38 p.m., 1000 block of E. Arques Avenue. Someone stole a 1991 Toyota Camry.

Auto burglary--Feb. 7, 4:39 p.m., 400 block of E. Evelyn Avenue. Someone burglarized a Honda Civic.

Embezzlement--Feb. 7, 11:11 a.m., 500 block of E. California Avenue. Someone embezzled from Valin Corp.

Residential burglary--Feb. 7, 7:54 p.m., 1300 block of Road Runner Terrace. Someone burglarized a home during the night.

Theft--Feb. 6, 3:47 p.m., 900 block of S. Bernardo Avenue. Someone stole a package that was delivered by UPS on Jan. 29.

Residential burglary--Feb. 4, 5:37 p.m., 1400 block of Mistaya Court. Tools were stolen from a garage during the night.

Theft--Feb. 4, 7:54 a.m., 1300 block of Spoonbill Way. An iPod and GPS device wee stolen from two unlocked cars.

Death threat--Feb. 3, 1:37 p.m. Someone reported receiving a death threat on his cell phone.

Illegal weapon--Feb. 3, 2:54 a.m., 100 block of S. Sunnyvale Avenue. Three people were heard fighting in front of Pacific Inn of Sunnyvale.

Battery--Feb. 3, 2:32 a.m., 100 block of S. Murphy Avenue. A San Jose man and a Union City man, both 20, were arrested on suspicion of battery, fighting in public and obstructing or resisting an officer.

Burglary--Feb. 6, 5:55 a.m., N. Mathilda Avenue at California Avenue. Five San Jose residents, between 21 and 32 years of age, were arrested on suspicion of seven counts of burglary and conspiracy to commit a felony. One was arrested at S. King Road and Story Road in San Jose.

Auto theft--Feb. 7, 8:33 p.m., 200 block of E. Eaglewood Avenue. A 1991 Toyota Camry was reported stolen.
