Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Assault with deadly weapon--March 1, 5:27 p.m., E. Duane Avenue at N. Fair Oaks Avenue. Someone reported a fight and had heard shots fired.

Theft--March 1, 12:36 p.m., 800 block of W. El Camino Real. Someone reportedly stole an 80 GB iPod and charger from a man's car when he left it for service at Toyota of Sunnyvale.

Auto burglary--March 1, 9:23 a.m., 1100 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. Someone stole a GPS device from a Pontiac Grand Prix overnight.

Auto burglary--March 1, 9:23 a.m., 1100 block of Orchid Drive. Someone burglarized a Honda Civic.

Commercial burglary--March 1, 6:12 a.m., 1100 block of Sonora Court. Something activated a motion sensor at a warehouse at Elpida Memory Inc.

Theft--Feb. 29, 9:54 p.m., 1100 block of Munich Terrace. Someone stole a rear license plate.

Theft--Feb. 29, 2:22 p.m., 100 block of E. Fremont Avenue. Someone stole a credit card while the owner was working out at 24 Hour Fitness and charged about $650.

Auto burglary--Feb. 29, 11:20 a.m., 500 block of E. Washington Avenue. Someone smashed a window and stole a GPS device from a vehicle.

Fight--Feb. 29, 9:34 a.m., 1000 block of Mango Avenue. A fight was reported.

Vandalism--Feb. 29, 7:29 a.m., 800 block of Lakechime Drive. Someone found graffiti near the restrooms by the picnic area of Lakewood Park.

Theft--Feb. 29, 7:31 a.m., 400 block of N. Wolfe Road. Someone stole wires from cabinets in a fenced area.

Auto burglary--Feb. 28, 9:22 p.m., 500 block of N. Lawrence Expressway. Someone burglarized a vehicle in front of a dental office.

Residential burglary--Feb. 28, 5:51 p.m., 1100 block of Breezewood Court. Someone stole a guitar and ransacked a closet.

Auto burglary--Feb. 28, 7:08 p.m., 1200 block of E. Arques Avenue. Someone broke into a locked and alarmed vehicle at a 24 Hour Fitness on Feb. 25 and stole documents from a briefcase that was left at the scene.

Rape--Feb. 28, 11:11 a.m., California Avenue. A rape was reported at an unknown address.

Battery--Feb. 27, 10:22 p.m., 1200 block of Sandia Avenue. Someone was hit by a small plastic bullet, possibly by someone shooting an air gun in Fairwood Park.

Tampering--Feb. 27, 10:13 p.m., 600 block of E. Maude Avenue. Someone was detained on suspicion of trying to break into a staff member's vehicle at the Sunnyvale Armory.

Vandalism--Feb. 27, 8:59 a.m., Lily Avenue at White Oak Lane. Someone sprayed black graffiti on a pump house.

Residential burglary--Feb. 26, 9:25 p.m., 200 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. Someone stole a plasma TV and jewelry.

Identity theft--Feb. 26, 4:48 p.m., 200 block of Buena Vista Avenue. Someone opened a credit card using the victim's name.

Battery--Feb. 26, 11:11 p.m., 1300 block of Rosalia Avenue. Two incidents of battery were reported at different times at the same address.

Commercial burglary--Feb. 26, 10:51 a.m., 200 block of E. Java Drive. Someone smashed a window.

Commercial burglary--Feb. 26, 10:11 a.m., 1100 block of Morse Avenue. Someone stole tools from a maintenance shed at an apartment complex.

Commercial burglary--Feb. 26, 3:33 a.m., 500 block of N. Lawrence Expressway. Someone smashed a window and stole a computer and cash register.
