Mustangs unbeaten in tennis

By Mike Barnhart

With two more wins last week, Homestead's boys tennis team remained unbeaten in the El Camino Division of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League. The Mustangs blanked both Santa Clara and Wilcox 7-0, running their record to 6-0 in division play and 9-4 overall.

"The team has not lost a set in league play, which is not even heard of

these days," Homestead coach Louie Alicea noted. "The team is pumped up and eager for challenges. It's a very fun and exciting time for all of us."

Chris Ho won at No. 1 singles against Wilcox. Alex Hsiung, Michael Kung, Ben Low and Ketan Kumar also scored big singles wins.

The three doubles winners for the Mustangs were Alex Kao-Clark Tella, Max Babicz-Ben Pool and Josh Mrozack-Koji Moriya.

"With the way everyone has been performing, we've been able to get

everyone into the line-up to play matches," Alicea said. "This really helps in knowing we have great depth to go to when we need to."

Ho, Samuel Ling, Hsiumg and Kung won singles matches against Santa Clara, while Low-Kao, Babicz-Pool and Kumar-Alex Lin were the doubles teams.
