Public Safety
opens house,
shows skills

The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety will hold an open house on April 26 featuring tours, a chance to meet officers, K-9 demonstrations, music, food, vehicles and auto extrication.

The event will be at the 700 All America Way headquarters, near city hall, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 408.730.7140 for more information.

Dr. Ken Sawyer of the Murphy Avenue Pet Clinic will also hold a pet portrait fundraiser for the K-9 unit on April 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and April 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 101 Hendy Avenue. Call 408.733.7387.

Stevens Creek
Trail under
El Camino

The city of Mountain View and the Friends of Stevens Creek Trail will celebrate the opening of the trail's new connection under El Camino Real west of Highway 85.

The event, on April 12 at 10 a.m., will be at the existing trail terminus on Yuba Drive in Mountain View, behind BMW of Mountain View.

Hooked on
Nature for
parents

Hooked on Nature will present programs designed to teach parents how to teach their children and enjoy nature with them at the same time at the Sunnyvale Public Library, 665 W. Olive Ave.

The events will be April 28 at 7 p.m. for parents and May 17 at 10:30 a.m. for families. Registration is required for the first program and begins April 7 at the library children's desk.
