The Willow Glen ResidentSports BriefsAdult Volleyball Signups for teams and individuals interested in playing in the San Jose men's adult volleyball league are now being accepted. League play begins Feb. 22 in the gym at the Camden Lifetime Activities Center. The cost is $235 per team, and the registration deadline is Feb. 19. For more information, call Laura Hardy at 277-5556. Shrine Bowl Run The annual East-West Shrine Game returns to Stanford Stadium on Jan. 10, and so does the East-West Shrine Bowl Run. The cost for either the 5K or 10 K run is $20 by Dec. 30 and $25 after that. The fee includes a T-shirt, game tickets and a post-race party. For more information, call 650/372-9300. Lincoln Glen Little League The Lincoln Glen Little League will hold signups for the 1999 season on Jan. 9 and 23, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and Jan. 14 and 21, 6-9 p.m., at River Glen Park. The league is open to players ages 5-18 (as of July 31, 1999). Proof of residency is required for all players, and new players must provide a birth certificate. Willow Glen Little League The Willow Glen Little League is holding signups for the 1999 season on Jan. 5, 6-8 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1336 Cherry Ave. The league is open to boys and girls ages 5-18. Players must provide an original birth certificate and a utility bill for proof of residency when they register. The league is also looking for volunteer umpires, managers and coaches. For more information, call 450-8502. PAL Pony Signups The San Jose PAL will hold Pony Baseball signups for players ages 7-12. Signups are held Tuesday through Friday at PAL Stadium. Pitching Program West Valley Community College pitching coach Burch Boehner will present a winter pitching program Wednesday evenings, Jan. 27-March 10, in the West Valley gym in Saratoga. Players ages 9-10 attend at 7 p.m. and players ages 11-12 attend at 8 p.m. Preseason arm conditioning, pitching fundamentals, arm care and defensive skills will be covered in the program.
