Local softball and baseball sign-ups

It's time for the youngsters of Willow Glen and their parents to start thinking about the upcoming youth softball and baseball seasons. Sign-ups are coming up soon in local leagues:

San Jose Pacific Sign-ups

San Jose Pacific Boys Baseball will hold sign-ups for the 1998 season on Jan. 10, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and Jan. 15, 6:30-9:30 p.m., at the Round Table Pizza Parlor, Camden and Kooser. The league is open to players ages 5-14 (as of July 31, 1998). For more information, call 536-0657.

Willow Glen Colt League

Phone registration is now being accepted for the 1998 Willow Glen Colt League season. The league is open to players ages 15-16. For more information, call 294-7109 or 526-1600.

Softball Sign-ups

The West Valley PAL girls fast-pitch softball league will hold sign-ups for the 1998 season on Jan. 10, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., at Bagby School, on the corner of Leigh and Curtner in San Jose. The league is open to girls ages 5-14, and a birth certificate is required at the registration. For more information, call 448-4115.

Willow Glen Little League

The Willow Glen Little League will hold sign-ups for the 1998 season on Jan. 8 and 15, 6-9 p.m., and Jan. 10, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1336 Cherry Ave.

Tryouts are slated for Jan. 17 and 24 at Willow Street Park, and late sign-ups will be accepted at that time.
