Adopt a rose for Valentine's Day

In what is quickly becoming a San Jose tradition, roses with names that speak of romance are being adopted this year in San Jose Heritage Rose Garden. People looking for something special to give to their loved ones for Valentine's Day can purchase the organization's $50 gift package, which includes a 5-7 p.m. reception at d.p. Fong Galleries, located at 383 S. First St., on Feb. 14. Participants will get a gift box containing Schurra's chocolates, a package of gourmet popcorn from Hip Pop, tickets for a ride on the carousel in Arena Green, and a card with a personal message. The message can be engraved on a plaque and placed in front of the rose selected.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the programs of the nonprofit Friends of Guadalupe River Park & Gardens.

For more information about adopting a rose for your Valentine, call 408.298.7657, or visit www.grpg.org.
