    Beahm's Big Week

Former Willow Glen basketball standout Guy Beahm had a big week for the West Valley Community College men's team, pouring in 48 points in two games for the Vikings.

Beahm pitched in 21 points last Friday night to lead the Vikes to a 92-79 win over rival San Jose City College. Beahm had a pair of three-pointers among his eight field goals, and he was 3-for-3 at the free-throw line.

Earlier in the week, Beahm led the Vikings with 27 points, but West Valley lost a tough 73-70 Coast Conference nod to Hartnell. Beahm has three threes among his 10 field goals and he was 4-for-4 at the line.

The Vikings are now 6-3 in the conference and 14-11 for the year.

    South Bay Soccer

The South Bay Youth Soccer League is now accepting sign-ups for the spring season for boys and girls in the under-6 through under-14 age divisions (ages determined as of July 31, 2002).

The season runs March 9 through June 1, and there will be tournaments at the end of the regular season. Players play at least half of every game.

The registration fee of $65 per player includes a uniform, photo package and end of the season award. Family discounts are available. After Feb. 28, there will be a $10 late registration fee charged and the family discount will not be offered.
