    Booth Wins Honors

    Peggy Booth, the successful coach of the Willow Glen girls field hockey team, has been honored for her efforts.

    Booth was named the Central Coast Section Field Hockey Honor Coach because of her outstanding leadership and her dedication to her sport. Booth coaches the Rams in the rugged Mount Hamilton Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League.

    The Willow Glen coach was also selected to serve on the National Federation of State High School Association's Field Hockey Rules Committee, the national committee responsible for overseeing and modifying the rules of high school field hockey.

    Soccer Registration

    South Bay Youth Soccer is currently registering players for the 2001 season in the following age groups for boys and girls: under-6, under-8, under-10, under-12 and under-14 (ages determined as of July 31, 2001).

    The season runs March through June, and the fee of $65 includes uniforms, a photo package and an end of the season award.

    PAL Football

    The Willow Glen Rams is currently holding signups for the fall 2001 youth tackle football season beginning. Willow Glen fields four teams in PAL play. For more information, call Chris Rohr at 408.723.3307.

    All-Comer Meets

    Los Gatos will host winter all-comer track and field meets Saturday through Feb. 24 at the high school track. The pole vault competition begins at noon with other field events at 12:30 p.m. and running events at 1 p.m. The cost is $3 for unlimited events and $2 for spectators.

    Volleyball Signups

    The United States Youth Volleyball League is accepting registration for its spring program in Los Gatos and San Jose through March 1.

    The coed league is open to players ages 8-14 and the fee of $90 per player includes instruction, games, uniform T-shirt and equipment. League play runs March 31-June 16.

    Teams will meet twice a week: on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9-10 a.m. at Camden Park West, and on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9-10 a.m. at Los Gatos High School.
