    Football Clinic

    Professional and college football coaches will be the featured speakers at the Football Clinic of Champions on March 24, 11:30 a.m., at Mountain View High School.

    Gil Haskell, offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, and Al Saunders, receivers coach for the St. Louis Rams, will top the list of speakers who will each give a 50-minute presentation. Haskell was a member of the Green Bay coaching staff when the Packers won the Super Bowl in 1997, and Saunders worked on the staff for the Rams when they won the Super Bowl in 2000.

    Rounding out the lineup of speakers will be Neal Zoumboukos, assistant head coach at the University of Oregon; Doug Cosbie, head coach at Menlo College and former All-Pro tight end for the Dallas Cowboys; and Fitz Hill, head coach at San Jose State University.

    The clinic is targeted to high school and youth football coaches but is open to the general public. The cost is $35 per person or $30 each for groups of five or more. The clinic runs to 5 p.m.

    Freestyle Program

    Willow Glen will begin a freestyle wrestling program for those ages 6-18 interested in learning how to wrestle. The group meets Mondays and Wednesdays, 5-6:30 p.m., in the small gym at Willow Glen. For more information, call Willow Glen wrestling coach Phil Luna at 408.629.6881.

    Youth Basketball

    RT Basketball will host spring leagues for players in grades 3-12. The season runs from March 31-May 20, and includes games, clinics and contests. For more information, call Ray Townsend at 408.879.0272 or Ray Townsend Sr. at 408.274.0824.

    PAL Football

    The Willow Glen Rams are currently holding signups for the fall 2001 youth tackle football season. Willow Glen fields four teams in PAL play. For information, call Chris Rohr at 408.723.3307.

    Volleyball Signups

    The United States Youth Volleyball League is accepting registration for its spring program in San Jose.

    The coed league is open to players ages 8-14 and the fee of $90 per player includes instruction, games, uniform T-shirt and equipment. League play runs March 31-June 16.

    Teams will meet twice a week: on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9-10 a.m. at Camden Park West.
