Airport officials invite public to meeting
San Jose International Airport officials are inviting the public to attend meetings to learn about and comment on plans for the airport's renovation.
Airport officials will present the proposed changes to the community and then field questions and listen to concerns and ideas, said airport representative Susie Larson.
Larson said the comments will be incorporated into a changed plan that the city council will vote on in the coming months.
The District 6 meeting is scheduled for March 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Luther Burbank Elementary School at 4 Wabash Ave. For information, call 408.501.0979

San Jose swears in new city councilwoman
San Jose again has a full complement of city council members. New District 5 city Councilwoman Nora Campos, who was elected to represent the Alum Rock area east of downtown earlier this month, was appointed by the rest of the city council at their March 13 meeting. The city council wanted to seat Campos promptly, but the appointment was necessary, because Campos' March 6 win had not yet been certified by the registrar of voters.
O'Hearn swore Campos into office after the council vote last week. The registrar of voters has now certified the votes, O'Hearn said. After taking her seat as an elected representative, Campos will be sworn in again on March 20.
The District 5 seat has been empty since Councilman Manny Diaz stepped down after winning his bid for state Assembly in November.
