    Cabral One-under

Junior John Cabral fired a one-under par 35, but the Willow Glen golf team dropped a 215-246 decision to Oak Grove in Mount Hamilton Division play last week.

Cabral broke par in the nine-hole competition at the prestigious Silver Creek Country Club, but it wasn't enough to lead the Rams to a win over the Eagles. Sophomore Ryan Radjabi supported with a 45 for Willow Glen.

Earlier in the week, senior Mike Puthoff carded a 41 to finish five-over at Cinnebar Hills in a 225-238 loss to Oak Grove. Cabral was close behind at 46.

    Rams Win

Mark Sarinana smashed 18 kills to lead the Willow Glen boys volleyball team to a 14-16, 15-6, 15-8, 17-15 nonleague victory over King's Academy last week. Kaelan Yoppini supported with 15 kills in the match. The win helped the Rams improve to 3-7 for the season.

    Youth Basketball

RT Basketball will host spring leagues for players in grades 3-12. The season runs from March 31-May 20 and includes games, clinics and contests. For more information, call Ray Townsend at 408.879.0272 or Ray Townsend Sr. at 408.274.0824.

    Football Clinic

Professional and college football coaches will be the featured speakers at the Football Clinic of Champions on March 24, 11:30 a.m., at Mountain View High School.

Gil Haskell, offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, and Al Saunders, receivers coach for the St. Louis Rams, will top the list of speakers who will each give a 50-minute presentation. Haskell was a member of the Green Bay coaching staff when the Packers won the Super Bowl in 1997, and Saunders worked on the staff for the Rams when they won the Super Bowl in 2000.

Rounding out the lineup of speakers will be Neal Zoumboukos, assistant head coach at the University of Oregon; Doug Cosbie, head coach at Menlo College and former All-Pro tight end for the Dallas Cowboys; and Fitz Hill, head coach at San Jose State University.

The clinic is targeted to high school and youth football coaches but is open to the general public. The cost is $35 per person or $30 each for groups of five or more. The clinic runs to 5 p.m.

For more information, call clinic director Ray Calcagno at 650.969.3295 or visit www.ccsa.net.
