Party to benefit youth
Willow Street Wood-Fired Pizza restaurant is holding a party April 1 to celebrate the end of its 10th anniversary festivities, with proceeds going to the Youth Leadership Council at the Gardner Community Center.
The party is from 5 to 9 p.m. and will include a buffet. Tickets are $25 per person and are available at any South Bay Willow Street Pizza restaurant, 408.399.5505, or the city's Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Department, 408.279.1498.
The youth council is helping prepare for the event and will use the funds raised to participate in leadership and other educational programs, to provide community services and to offer incentives to participating youth.

Gardens reopen in May
The Bonfante Gardens Family Theme Park in Gilroy will reopen May 11 with different hours and more flexible admission options to better appeal to visitors and keep it financially stable.
The park was forced to close during its first year last year because of funding problems. However, John Fry, owner of Fry's Electronics, has provided $8.5 million to keep the park alive.
The park will open for weekends in May and every day beginning June 15. It will revert to weekends only Aug. 27. The gardens will be open Fridays and weekends beginning May 17, every day beginning June 15 and Fridays and weekends from Sept. 6 to Nov. 22. The park will also have holiday lights in December.
Daily admission is $29.95 for adults and $19.95 for kids. Season passes are $69.95 for adults and $59.95 for kids. Those who wish to only visit the gardens can pay $10.95 per visit.

Online test practice
The San Jose Public Library now offers preparation programs for academic and occupational exams online at its eBranch website: www.sjpl.lib.ca.us.
The free program, LearnATest, allows library card holders to take practice tests in preparation for many standardized tests. After taking the tests, users receive reports about what they did right and wrong, analyses of strengths and weaknesses and suggestions for improvement.

Chamber offers forum
The San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce will hold a Business Success Forum, "Bottoms-Up Leadership," April 16, 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. at Lou's Village, 1465 W. San Carlos St.
The forum, presented by the president of Winning Leadership Inc., Hugh Coppen, will focus on the benefits of encouraging leadership in all levels of a business, including in low-level employees.
