    Soccer Clinic

    Nationally licensed soccer coach Sergio Pacheco will will be the special guest when the Central Valley Youth Soccer League hosts a clinic on April 8, 2-4 p.m., at John Muir Middle School, Branham Lane just off Almaden Expressway.     Split for Rams

    Guy Beahm hammered down 34 kills in two matches to lead the Willow Glen boys volleyball team to a split in the Mt. Hamilton Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League last week.

    Beahm rammed 26 kills, but the Rams lost a 16-14, 17-15, 6-15, 15-13 heartbreaker to Leland to open the week. He came back with eight kills to lead the Rams past Leigh 15-0, 15-3, 15-10.

    Willow Glen is now 1-1 in division play and 10-3 for the year.

    Rams net win, then lose a heartbreaker

    The Willow Glen boys tennis team pulled out a tough 4-3 win over Valley Christian, but then lost a 4-3 heartbreaker to Silver Creek in the Santa Teresa Division of the BVAL.

    Jose Ocampo won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles and the Rams swept in doubles play to pull out the 4-3 win over the Warriors to open the week.

    Minh Phan and Chris Lyons teamed for 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, Huy Nguyen and Eric Bursch won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 and Alex Kane and Mike Nguyen won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3.

    But the Rams slipped to 5-3 in league play and to 7-3 for the year with the loss to the Raiders later in the week.

    Nick Burggraff posted a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, Cyrus Yazdani won 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 at No. 2 and Loc Nguyen won 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 at No. 4, but the Rams ended up losing by one.

    YMCA Sports

    The Central YMCA is offering a sports program for kids ages 3-6. The program, which runs for six weeks on Saturday mornings at the YMCA gym, includes basketball, floor hockey and soccer. For more information, call 408.298.1717, ext. 60.

    Coach needed

    Fencing Classes
