    Field Hockey

    Eighth-grade girls who plan to attend Willow Glen in the fall and play on the field hockey team should contact head coach Peggy Booth for signup information.

    Booth, who will visit Willow Glen Middle School on April 11 to talk to prospective players, has information on summer camps, summer workouts and other important dates.

    Field Hockey Jamboree

    The 22nd annual Willow Glen High School Field Hockey Jamboree will be held Sept. 7-8 on fields at the high school.

    Each team will play a minimum of five games in the varsity-level tournament. Games will be 30 minutes, with a 2-minute halftime break. The cost is $160 per team before June 7, $175 after that date.

    Teams interested in participating in the tournament should call Willow Glen head coach Peggy Booth at 408.535.6330 by April 20.

    Freestyle Program

    Willow Glen will begin a freestyle wrestling program for those ages 6-18 interested in learning how to wrestle. The group meets Mondays and Wednesdays, 5-6:30 p.m., in the small gym at Willow Glen. For more information, call Willow Glen wrestling coach Phil Luna at 408.629.6881.

    'Will to Win' Scholarships

    High school scholar-athletes who have competed despite facing the challenge of asthma are eligible for scholarships through the "Will to Win" scholarship program.

    The program, in its 17th year, grants $35,000 in scholarships to 10 high school seniors, with the grand prize winner claiming a $10,000 award.

    Scholarship applications are available by calling the "Will to Win" hotline at 1.800.558.7305. The deadline for entries is April 30.

    PAL Football

    The Willow Glen Rams are now holding signups for the fall 2001 youth tackle football season beginning. Willow Glen fields four teams in PAL play. For more information, call Chris Rohr at 408.723.3307.
