Around The Glen
Old-time hootenannies blossom in spring
Beginning April 24, Glenites can enjoy bluegrass, old time, gospel and folk music during the Bluegrass Hootenanny at Waves. The productions are in association with Waves Smokehouse and Saloon, California Bluegrass Association and the Northern California Bluegrass Society.
The hootenannies will take place every second and fourth Monday of each month beginning at 7 p.m. and enjoy nonstop playing until 11 p.m. Audience members are welcome to join in and participate in the open-mic experience--or just sit back and enjoy the tunes. Amateurs and professionals are invited to take the stage at this old-fashioned performance.

Empty bottles sought by arthritis group
Arthritis sufferers don't have to worry about recycling empty prescription bottles anymore--they can send them to Washington. The organization plans to present the bottles to Congress on Arthritis Action Day on May 18, as part of its Message in a Bottle campaign. Supporters of the foundation hope to call attention to an issue surrounding all those who suffer from the disease--access to medications.
The deadline to send bottles is April 30. For information or to have a bottle sent in your name, call 800.283.7800
