San Jose police say the Rotten Robbie robber is still at large

    By Jessica Lyons

A Willow Glen gas station attendant was robbed at gun point last week by an unidentified man who fled the scene on foot. No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is still at large, San Jose Police Officer Rubens Dalaison said. The robber made off with about $160, according to a 42-year-old attendant, who asked to remain anonymous.

The suspect entered the Rotten Robbie gas station at about 11:45 a.m. on March 28. He pointed a semi-automatic pistol at the clerk and demanded money. No one else was in the building, located at 1655 Foxworthy Ave., at the time of the robbery.

Because of the recent jump in gasoline prices, business was slow on March 28, and customers were few and far between, the attendant said. When he saw a man enter the store and hover around the soda machines, he assumed the man wanted to buy a beverage. Then the man pulled out a semi-automatic pistol.

"He pointed a gun at me and said, 'Put all the money into a bag,'" the attendant said.

Police say the suspect is described as a black male with a crew cut and a heavy build. He is between 5-feet-10 inches and 6 feet tall, around 200 pounds and between the ages of 20 and 35. He is clean-shaven. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing glasses, a dark shirt, blue cap and jeans.
