The Willow Glen Resident

Tickets are available for home tour

By Rebecca Wallace

Those with an eye for decor and design can now buy tickets for a May 3 tour that will include 1930s English Tudor, 1946 Cape Cod colonial and 1958 ranch-style Glen homes--the 16th annual Willow Glen Lifestyles home tour.

About 1,400 people came to the event last year, said Beverly Singh, who is event chairman and a board member at the San Jose Day Nursery, the event's beneficiary. Tour-takers get to pick up tips on interior decorating and get a glimpse into their neighbors' homes.

The nursery, a United Way agency, provides day care with fees on a sliding scale for low-income parents.

Advance tickets for the tour are $15 and are available by mail or in person at the San Jose Day Nursery, 33 N. Eighth St., San Jose, 95112. (Include a stamped, self-addressed envelope if ordering by mail.) Tickets can also be picked up at Casa Casa at 1355 Lincoln Ave. and at The Eclectic Touch, 1171 Lincoln Ave.

On May 3, tickets can be purchased for $20 in the Willow Glen Elementary School parking lot at Minnesota and Lincoln avenues. The tour also includes a wine and cheese reception. For more information, call 288-9667.
