Robbie Taylor
Taylor dives in
Robbie Taylor, a Willow Glen resident, was one of six members of the Santa Clara Diving team that competed in the Junior Olympic National Diving Championships, held April 24 in Baton Rouge, La.
Taylor, 11, qualified for the Junior Olympics by winning the boys 11-and-under 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the Western States Regional Championships, held in March in Portland, Ore.
Areil Rittenhouse, Ashley Potoc, Jememy Aragon, Courtney Rudolph and Bryan Dunmire were other Santa Clara divers competing in Baton Rouge. The divers are coached by Bill Boos, Pei-Ling Gu and Ryan Wallace.
Irish tourney
The sixth annual Irish American Heritage Society (IAHS) Golf Tournament will be held on May 20 at the Almaden Golf and Country Club.
Saratoga's Deirdre Gallagher, a former tutor for Bing Crosby's children, is a member of the organizing committee for the IAHS tournament, which has raised nearly $500,000 for scholarships, youth programs and economic development throughout Ireland.

Diabetes golf
The 10th annual Diabetes Society of Santa Clara Valley Golf Classic will be played on June 4 at the Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in San Jose.

Cindergals reunion
The San Jose Cindergals, a top-flight age-group track and field club coached by Augie Argabright from 1968 to 1985, will hold a reunion on June 16 at Vasona Park in Los Gatos.
Argabright, currently the cross country coach at San Jose State University, turned out 47 national age-group champions in his 18 years as the coach of the Cindergals.
