    Poet Grace Cavalieri will read from her work at the Divine Science Center on May 11, at 7:30 p.m. and a poetry workshop on May 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the center, 1540 Hicks Ave., San Jose. Cavalieri was the producer and host of the weekly public radio program The Poet and the Poem, which was broadcast nationally from 1977 to 1997. She has published more than 500 poems in British and American journals, and has been writer in residence at Castello di Montegufoni in Tuscany, Italy, since 1996. Cavalieri has written 12 books of poetry and has produced 18 plays for theater. She is known also for her constant work in helping fellow poets and writers. Cost for both events, sponsored by the San Jose Center of Poetry and Literature, is $75. For registration or more information, call 408.292.3254.
