    Bicyclist killed by pickup truck

    By Jessica Lyons

A 24-year-old San Jose man was killed on May 9 after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle just outside the boundaries of Willow Glen.

According to police, the victim, Robert Carlos Herrera Jr., was traveling northbound on Almaden Expressway just north of Canoas Garden Avenue when he was hit. The driver, 68-year-old Theodore Anthony Stancey, also of San Jose, immediately stopped and flagged down another driver, who called from a cell phone for assistance.

Paramedics responded, and pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene.
