Student watercolors come to Willows Center

Watercolor paintings made by fourth- and fifth-graders from Schallenberger Elementary School will be on display at the Willows Senior Center beginning May 24. The students have been attending a watercolor class, taught by parent volunteer Kathryn Senigaglia, once a week since November.

The group of 12 students will share their work with students in the senior center's art classes at a reception on May 24, at 11:30 a.m. The children's art will be on display for two weeks.

"I thought it would be nice for the two art groups to meet and look at their art together," Senigaglia said. "It's fun for the students to show their art someplace and get recognition for it."

Each of the 12 students will have from one to five watercolors on display. The Willows Senior Center is located at 2175 Lincoln Ave., San Jose. The center is open M-F from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It's also open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 408.448.6400.
