    Bahá'í Center

Local religious community finds a new home in Willow Glen

There's nothing ostentatious about the Bahá'í Center. The simple gray house is lined with blooming peach roses and wrapped in a white picket fence. Only a small wooden sign, also surrounded by flowers, indicates that the place is a different kind of home. Many residents may not know that there's a Bahá'í center in Willow Glen, or know much about the Bahá'í faith. But across the globe more than seven million people in more than 200 countries follow the teachings of Bahá'u'lláh, the prophet of Bahá'í. Bahá'ís in some corners of the globe, like Iran, are now being persecuted for their beliefs. Although the Bahá'í do not believe in proselytizing to aggressively recruit followers, more folks in Silicon Valley are taking notice of the Valley-wide Bahá'í community that's found a quiet home on Willow Street.   More
