Youth Football
The Willow Glen PAL football program will hold signups for players and cheerleaders ages 8-14 each Thursday through June, 6:30-8 p.m., at the Straw Hat Pizza Parlor, 1535 Meridian Ave. For more information, call 723-3307.
Youth Soccer
The Willow Glen PAL soccer program will hold signups for players ages 5-16 on June 12, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at River Glen Park, Pine and Bird avenues in Willow Glen. The cost is $55 per player, and new players must provide a copy of their birth certificates. For more information, call 265-2144.
Soccer Course
The Central Santa Clara Valley Youth Soccer League will offer a course for coaches interested in obtaining their CYSA "E" license. Classes will be held June 11-13. For information, call coaching director Greg Pinelli at 266-5899 or 267-0740.
NASCAR at Home Depot
NASCAR auto racing is coming to local Home Depot stores when a state-of-the-art mobile unit outfitted with a racing simulator and interactive tool workshop rolls into the area this month.
The simulator, modeled after the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Pontiac that's driven by rookie of the year candidate Tony Stewart, a former Indy Racing League champion, is life-size and true-to-spec. Participants can take the wheel and experience the roar of the engine.
The mobile unit will visit the following locations: Milpitas, 1535 Landess Ave., on June 9, 3-7 p.m.; San Jose, 920 Blossom Hill Road, on June 10, 3-7 p.m.; Santa Clara, 2435 Lafayette, on June 13, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; and Sunnyvale, 680 Kifer Road, on June 17, 3-7 p.m.
YMCA Day Camps
The Central YMCA will host summer camps for youngsters and teen-agers throughout the summer.
The Summer Day Camp program for ages 5-14 includes swimming, field trips, park days, games, sports and craft projects.
Sports Day Camps for ages 5-12 include boys and girls basketball, roller hockey, soccer, swimming, ice skating, golf, tennis and T-ball, baseball and softball programs. Camps run for one week each.
Teen Specialty Day Camps include the Junior High Surf and Kayak Camp, Bay Area Bicycling Camp, Junior High Climbing Camp, Junior Lifeguard Camp, Junior High Arts Camp, Teen Media Camp and Community Service Camp.
Camps run throughout the summer and are held Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m., at the Central YMCA, 1717 The Alameda. For more information, call 298-1717.
