The Willow Glen ResidentVolunteer group seeks helpers for food bankOn Wednesday, July 8, the Second Harvest Food Bank in San Jose is hosting a volunteer project to help sort donated food. Volunteers will also stock shelves and salvage perishable fruits and vegetables for distribution to the food bank's clients. The food bank feeds more than 100,000 people each month. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and should call Community Impact, the organizing group, to sign up no later than July 3. Founded in 1988, Community Impact is a nonprofit organization that provides ways for people to volunteer through a variety of one-day service projects all around the Bay Area.
