The Willow Glen ResidentSports BriefsSJ Giants Fireworks The San Jose Giants will present special fireworks displays after California League games on July 4 and 5 at San Jose Municipal Stadium, and reserved seat tickets are currently on sale. A limited number of box seats are available for the two games, which are annual sellouts. Tickets are priced at $9 each, and there is a limit of four tickets per person. The SJ Muni box office is open noon-6 p.m. on weekdays. General admission tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for kids and seniors for all games, but seats are not reserved. Niven an all-leaguer Pioneer's Landers Niven was mistakenly left off the list when the names of the local players picked to the frosh-soph all-league team in the Mt. Hamilton Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League were listed in last week's issue of The Resident. Niven, Sean Hallihan, Jim DePrez and Kevin Sparrer of Pioneer joined Dave Macchi, Gilbert Maldonado and Mike DeBono of Willow Glen on the frosh-soph all-league team. Willow Glen PAL soccer The Willow Glen PAL soccer organization is currently holding registration for the fall season for players ages 5-17. The cost is $50 per player. For more information, call 265-2144. Holy City Race The annual Holy City Race returns to the small town in the Santa Cruz Mountains on June 28. Runners will take off on the hilly 9.1-mile course at 7:30 a.m. in Holy City, Old Santa Cruz Highway off of Redwood Estates. The cost is $3 per runner. For more information, call 435-2820. Adult Softball Registration is currently under way for the 10-game summer season in the San Jose Parks and Recreation Department-sponsored adult softball leagues. Men's, women's and mixed slow-pitch leagues will play Sunday through Friday nights, and the cost per team for the season is $545 with two umpires or $485 with one. The men's modified fast-pitch league is set for Thursday night, and the cost is $600 per team or $60 per players. For information, call 277-5556.
