Dancing, eating, sidewalk sales and inflatable bounce houses will be part of the family entertainment visitors to the sixth annual Dancing on the Avenue festival on June 16 can enjoy.

A visit by "Austin Powers" will start off the day at 11 a.m. at the L'Daisy Patch store. The movie character will also lead a dancing parade, similar to the one featured in the beginning of his popular movie, later in the afternoon.

The gallery, Art Made to Match, will not only fill the avenue with original benches and metal archways by owner Edward Seichei, but will also provide children and families the chance to have their handprints forever etched in stone, as a keepsake. Seichei will trace the individuals' hands, before etching the handprint into stone, along with the name and age, or just the year. Seichei will also host the musical group Liquid Audio at his booth from 4 to 6 p.m.

All the food and beverage vendors participating in this year's festival will be local restaurants, including Café Primavera, Taiwan Restaurant, the Emperor's Garden, Pizza My Heart, Le Boulanger, new restaurant Vin Santo, Willow Street Wood-Fired Pizza and Sharky's. Sponsors who will also have booths include John's Xlnt Foods, which will be open during the event, and The Glen. Round Table Pizza will also have a booth and will donate its proceeds to the De Anza Optimist Club, a nonprofit organization that benefits Cupertino educational programs. Coffee Cantata will provide iced tea at the Willow Glen Business and Professional Association booth.

Musical entertainment will include the band, Flashback, from 6 to 10 p.m. and the Joe Sharino Band, playing from 7 to 10 p.m. Wellness Day Spa will host live Indian jazz music from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be two stages for the live entertainment.

Having Fun: There's plenty of food at the event as these two youngsters learned last year.

In addition to the food and beverages, there will be multiple stores participating in a sidewalk sale, including L'Daisy Patch, Details Clothing Co., Posey Garden Florist, Swingers Golf Gear and more. Johnson's Wellness Day Spa will offer head and shoulder massages and a drawing. Cloud Nine Limo and Land Yachts will have a drawing for a free limousine ride to and from an exclusive golf course.

At Keepsakes, children will have the chance to create and take home Father's Day cards. There will also be a cakewalk from 4 to 6 p.m. for kids, but with something for everyone. Cakes for the event have been donated by ebake.com.

Twist 'n' Shout will have a booth at the event, with demonstrations throughout the day of tap dance, gymnastics, arts and crafts and more. Children can also create their own musical instruments at the booth.

The Willow Glen Coffee Roasting Company, Vin Santo and Johnson's Wellness Day Spa are hosting live Indian music from 5 to 7 p.m. at the coffee roasting company's booth.

A brand-new nonprofit organization, Books for Treats, will also participate during the festival, collecting "gently read" children's books to promote their pilot program in Willow Glen, which encourages parents to hand out books, instead of candy at Halloween.

Rebecca Morgan, founder and executive director of Books for Treats, said the organization will collect books at its booth and educate the public about what it plans to do.
