    Dancing on the Avenue

Willow Glen kicks off summer with its annual street party

Glenites who enjoy the finer things in life--including food, drink and musical merriment--are putting on their dancing shoes as they prepare to eat, drink, and dance their way through the fifth annual Willow Glen street dance on June 19. Sponsored by the Willow Glen Business and Professional Association, Dancing on the Avenue is expected to draw a crowd of 25,000 to downtown Lincoln Avenue. Live entertainment--including the Jesse Charles Band, My Ol' Man's Band, and Al Green and Tower of Power--will provide the musical accompaniment, while local restaurants will set up food booths to fuel Avenue dancers of all ages. Here is our preview of the popular street festival:

Dancing Blues: Jesse Charles Band to headline the musical entertainment list

Longtime Partners: Veteran area dancers Lee and Agnes Arnold to make their first visit to Dancing on the Avenue

Food Party: Local restaurateurs prepare to feed hungry dancers.

Whacked Out: Some young Glenites don't plan to attend the street dance.

Glen Dining: A guide to restaurants and cafés in the street party area.
