Summer baseball camps





    Sports Briefs

    Field Hockey Camp

    A beginning field hockey camp for girls in grades 6-9 will be held June 27-29, 9 a.m.-noon each day, at Del Mar High School. The cost is $30 per player and equipment will be provided. For more information, call 408.264.2373.

    Adult Basketball

    A summer basketball tournament for open-level adult teams is slated for July 15-16 in the main gym and small gym at San Jose State University. The cost is $250 for the double-elimination tournament, and the registration deadline is July 1. For more information, call Dave Newman at 408.294.2831.

    RT Basketball

    Registration for the RT Basketball summer program is now under way. Games, clinics and shooting contests will be conducted for boys and girls in grades 3-12 from July 2-Aug. 13. The registration deadline is June 30, and spaced is limited.

    Girls Hoop Camp

    The Lady Jags summer basketball camp for girls will be held in July at San Jose City College. Camps are slated for July 5-8 for girls ages 7-12 ($75 per player) and July 10-14 for girls ages 12-16 ($85 per player). Camp hours are 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each day.

    PAL football signups on tap

    Willow Glen PAL, a youth tackle football group affiliated with the Police Athletic League, is currently holding signups for players and cheerleaders for the 2000 season.

    Both boys and girls ages 8-14 are eligible.

    Fencing Classes

    The Fencing Center will hold classes in foil, sabre and epee at its downtown San Jose location, 110 Stockton Ave. Equipment is provided, and classes are for those ages 9 and up.
