The Best of Willow Glen 2001

Although in most ways, Willow Glen residents cannot be stereotyped, if there's one trait they share, it's that they're not apathetic. Even though Willow Glen is not , strictly speaking, a town, it might as well be its own municipality--at least according to residents! Self-contained with a mix of old and new, young and old, it features a lively business community, schools, churches and great neighborhoods.

From the community pride generated by its best teachers, neighborhood activists and parks to the loyalty held by customers of its best restaurants, bars and coffeehouses, Willow Glen is a vibrant, interesting and fun place to live. We celebrate that here.

This is the first year the Willow Glen Resident has invited readers to vote for their neighborhood favorites. Our job was to tally the votes and put together the section. Without the enthusiastic participation of our readers, there would have been no Best of Willow Glen.

At the end of the section, we've shared a few picks from our staff as Editor's Picks. We hope your votes and our insights combine to make this the first of a long tradition for The Willow Glen Resident.
