Barbecue, benefits local senior center
The Saratoga Senior Center, at 19655 Allendale Ave., invites all members of the community, including families with children, of all ages to enjoy a barbecue dinner on Sept. 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the center's parking lot. Along with food, the event also includes entertainment for all ages, a silent auction and a live auction with a professional auctioneer.
Among the items up for bids are a weekend in a Capitola condominium, a trip for two on the Napa Wine Train, a Fenton electric guitar with sound system, season tickets for two to the Saratoga Drama Group, computer software, items for children and items for pets.
All proceeds benefit the Saratoga Senior Center. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children. For tickets or additional information, call 408.868.1257.
Workshop focus is on the breath of life
The Senior Program of the Los Gatos-Saratoga Department of Community Education and Recreation offers a one-day workshop, Breath: The Life Force Energy, on Aug. 13, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Los Gatos Neighborhood Center, 208 E.
