Classes canceled while senior center gets coat of paint

Willows Senior Center will close down most of its operations Aug. 3-22 to allow for the building's repainting inside and out. To ensure the heath and comfort of senior-center users, all classes and activities will be canceled during this time, according to assistant director Judy York.

The business office will remain open, and the nutrition program will continue, though the latter will be relocated while the kitchen and auditorium are painted during the week of Aug. 3-7. While this happens, the nutrition program will be held at noon in rooms 8 and 9 of the center. Canteen Corporation, which provides meals to other area senior centers, will bring in prepackaged meals during that week.

Participants in the nutrition program will still need to make reservations a week in advance, but the usual reservation line will not be operational Aug. 3-7. To make reservations for the week of Aug. 10-14, call 448-6400. On Monday, Aug. 10, the nutrition program will resume in the auditorium, and meals will again be cooked on site.
