The Willow Glen ResidentWG has Belgium connectionIt seems that it pays to be named Josh for soccer players at Prospect High School. Well, at least it's paid off for the Panthers through the years: Three guys who share the same first name starred on the soccer field for Prospect, and now they are all taking their talents overseas. Josh Anderson, Joshua Hawthorne and Joshua Reed, all stars for the powerful Prospect boys' soccer team, are among a group of Northern California all-stars currently playing in Belgium. Willow Glen's Joel Del Toro Carde joins the Prospect trio on the squad that will battle other teams from around the world in the international Belgium Cup tournament. Soccer Signups Central Valley United is looking for players for its boys' under-14 Class 1 soccer team. For more information, call John at 629-6739 or Debbie at 365-1987. De Anza Soccer Camp A summer soccer camp for youth is set for Aug. 17-21 at De Anza Community College in Cupertino. Camp hours are 9 a.m.-noon for players ages 5-16. Cats Classic The Los Gatos United Soccer League will hold the Los Gatos Cats Classic boys' select soccer tournament Aug. 29-30 at Fisher, Van Meter and Union schools. The tournament will feature divisions for boys under-10, boys under-11 and boys under-14 teams. For more information, call John Cleveland at 358-9289. Los Gatos Soccer Camp The Los Gatos United Soccer League will host a recreational summer camp on Aug. 17-21 at Fisher Middle School. Paul Holocher, a Santa Clara All-American and charter member of the San Jose Clash, will run the camp along with other professional players from the Clash and the California Jaguars.
