Erin Booth won't be playing field hockey at Willow Glen this fall.

But while Erin will be gone, she will certainly not be forgotten... not even close!

Booth's accomplishments on the hockey field for the Rams are many, and they didn't end when she graduated from Willow Glen last June.

A four-year field hockey star for the Rams, Booth capped her prep career by winning one of 13 positions on the California team that participated in the National Futures Tournament at the University of Maryland in July.

Booth competed for a spot on the under-19 age group team with 100 other girls in a regional tournament played late last spring at Stanford. It was the second time that Booth had won a berth on the squad.

Players from all over the nation come together for the competitive tournament and participated in a weekend of elite level competition at the nationals.

Booth was the only player from Santa Clara County selected for the 13-member team that was made up mostly of players from Southern California.

Booth was an outstanding field hockey player for the Rams for all four of her high school seasons--so outstanding that she was awarded a number of scholarships at the end of the 1999 school year.

Booth was nominated by the Willow Glen High School scholarship committee for the Doug Wilson Foundation/San Jose Sharks Scholarship Award, and was one of just four students in the Santa Clara County selected to receive the award.

She earned a $1,000 scholarship from the San Jose Sharks and a $1,000 scholarship from the Doug Wilson Foundation. She also received the Bruce Diehl Memorial Scholarship Award from Willow Glen, a scholarship award from the Native Daughters of the Golden West Vendome Parlor #100 and a scholarship award from the Willow Glen Parents Club.
