    BASHOF makes $120,000 donation

    The Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame will donate more than $120,000 in athletic-equipment grants to boys and girls youth sports organizations in the area as part of its youth fund.

    BASHOF made check donations to all of the Santa Clara County Boys and Girls Clubs as well as to EMQ Children and Family Services, Los Gatos High School, Miller Middle School, the San Jose Midnight Basketball League, San Jose Pacific Pony Baseball, the Serra Little League in Sunnyvale, St. Elizabeth's Day Home and the Sunnyvale Swim Club.

    The Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame has distributed more than $1.6 million in grants through its youth fund since 1981. The grand-application filing period is Sept. 1 through Jan. 31. For information regarding grant applications, call 415.352.8827 or check www.bashof.org.

    Wood Bat League signups end Sept. 1

    Signups for the fall season of the Wood Bat Baseball League will he held through Sept. 1. There are divisions for players of high school age and also for players ages 9-12.

    San Jose Pacific Pony Signups

    The San Jose Pacific Pony Baseball program is holding signups for the winter league season for players ages 9-12. The signup fee is $40 per player for the season that runs from Sept. 10 to Nov. 19. For more information, call 408.536.0657.

    Coaches Needed

    St. Christopher's School in Willow Glen is looking for coaches for its flag football and volleyball teams for the fall season.

    The school needs coaches for its sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade flag football teams, and for its fifth-, sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade girls volleyball teams.
