    Field Hockey Jamboree returns to Willow Glen

    It's back for another year, and it's as big as ever. There are 30 teams scheduled to play 75 games in the 22nd annual Willow Glen Field Hockey Jamboree set for Sept. 7 and 8 on five fields at the local high school.

    Teams joining Willow Glen for the jamboree this fall include Westmont, Robert Louis Stevenson, Live Oak, Los Altos, Del Mar, Homestead, Saratoga, Leland, University, Berkeley, Bella Vista, Cupertino, Branham, Pleasant Valley, St. Francis, St. Ignatius, Gilroy, Leigh, Davis, Lassen, Monterey, Monta Vista, Mitty, Yuba City, Lynbrook, North Salinas, Prospect, Corning and Marin Catholic.

    Games are slated for 2:30 p.m., 3:15 p.m., 4 p.m., 4:45 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., noon, 12:45 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:15 p.m., and 3 p.m. on Saturday.

    Field hockey parents will operate a snack shack for the two days of the competition, and Jamboree T-shirts will also be on sale at the event. Athletic trainers will be on site, and Longstretch Inc. will sell field hockey merchandise and equipment.
