    Hockey Jamboree

    The fields of Willow Glen High will be filled with field hockey teams Sept. 8 and 9 when the annual Field Hockey Jamboree returns for its 21st year.

    The 30-team jamboree begins that Friday with 30 matches to be played on five different fields at Willow Glen. Play begins at 2:30 p.m. with the final matches that day getting under way at 6:15 p.m.

    Teams return to the fields on Saturday for matches at 9 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., noon, 12:45 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:15 p.m. and 3 p.m.

    Teams receive three points for a win, two points for a scored tie and one point for a scoreless tie. The team rolling up the most points in the jamorbee wins the championship.

    Those teams competing in the jamboree include Cupertino, Bella Vista, Del Mar, Pleasant Valley, Los Altos, North Salinas, Prospect, Live Oak, Homestead, Robert Louis Stevenson, St. Ignatius, Davis, San Jose, Gilroy, St. Francis, Marin Catholic, Leigh, Yuba City, Westmont, University, Monta Vista, Corning, Lynbrook, Harvard Westlake, Leland, Saratoga, Willow Glen, Chico, Mitty and Lassen.

    San Jose Pacific

    The San Jose Pacific Pony Baseball program is holding signups for the winter league season for players ages 9-12. The signup fee is $40 per player for the season that runs from Sept. 10 to Nov. 19. For more information, call 408.536.0657.

    Coaches Needed

    St. Christopher's School in Willow Glen is looking for coaches for its flag football and volleyball teams for the fall season.

    The school needs coaches for its sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade flag football teams, and for its fifth, sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade girls volleyball teams.

    Players needed

    Two Los Gatos Metro boys soccer teams are looking for players for the upcoming select season.

    The Metro boys under-13 Class 1 team is looking for a field player and a goalkeeper, and the boys under-14 Class 1 team is looking for two field players.
