Marinucci stars for West Valley College

Former Willow Glen football player Mike Marinucci is playing this fall at West Valley Community College in Saratoga. Marinucci (6-foot-1, 220 pounds) is a sopho-more linebacker for the Vikings.

Flag Football Signups Starting

Signups are now under way for the seven-game flag football season that begins Sept. 19 and is sponsored by the city of San Jose. Games will be played at Camden Park. The cost is $450 per team, $460 for late registration. For more information, call 277-5556 or cwsports@pacbell.net.

Fall Baseball for Teenagers

For teenagers who didn't get enough baseball through the spring and summer months, there are a couple of area baseball leagues now holding signups for the fall season for players ages 13-18.

Former De Anza Community College coach Terry Hardtke is holding signups for a fall ball league that begins Sept. 12 and is geared to high-school-aged players. There will be divisions for varsity and junior varsity players. For more information, call 997-6868.

Another fall-winter baseball league will run Sept. 8-Dec. 6 with games played on five San Jose baseball diamonds. For more information on the program, call 287-4284.

San Jose Fall Adult Basketball

Registration is now under way for the San Jose fall adult basketball leagues. The cost is $340 for the six-game season. For more information, call 277-5556.

Roller Hockey Summer Leagues

Roller hockey players can find plenty to do this summer in leagues in a couple of different locations.

Weekday leagues, high school leagues, lessons and drop-in play are available at the NHL-sized outdoor Roosevelt Roller Rink, 21st and Santa Clara streets. The cost is $2 for youth and $4 for adults. For information, call 286-0195.
