Hall of Fame Classic

San Jose State University baseball stars of the past Rich Guardino (1974-77) and Chris Pedretti (1978-79) will be the inductees during ceremonies at the 12th annual Spartan Baseball Hall of Fame Golf Classic Oct. 24 at the Santa Clara Golf Course.

The tourney begins with registration at 11 a.m., a putting contest at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The cost for the best ball scramble is $140 and includes a cart, green fees, tee prizes, lunch and dinner. The cost is $45 for the dinner only. The reservation deadline is Oct. 13.

Baseball reunion

Ram Run

The annual Ram Run returns to Willow Glen on Oct. 4 when runners race through neighborhood streets before heading to the finish line on the high school track.

The cost is $20 in advance or $25 on race day. The race begins at 9 a.m.

Coaches clinic

Baseball coaches Mike Cummins of Santa Clara University, Sam Piraro of San Jose State University and Rich Hill of USF will be the guest speakers at the Northern California baseball coaches clinic set for Oct. 12, 9 a.m.-3:15 p.m., at Cupertino High School. Punt, Pass and Kick

The annual NFL Punt, Pass and Kick contest will be held Sept. 28, 3 p.m., at Camden Park. The free contest is open to boys and girls ages 8-15 (as of Dec. 31, 1997). For more information, call 277-5556.

Carousel to Coaster

The annual Carousel to Coaster Run returns to Great America Sept. 28, 8:30 a.m. The 10K run and 5K walk begin at 8:30 a.m., and the course cuts right through the middle of the amusement park in Santa Clara.

Race-day registration is $20, and T-shirts will be available while supplies last.
