Booth, Arnone star

Erin Booth and Kellie Arnone were sticking together to lead the Willow Glen girls' hockey team to a 3-0 win over Los Altos in non-league play last week.

Booth knocked in two goals, and Arnone had a goal and an assist to lead the Rams to the victory.

Willow Glen came back later in the week to fight Mitty to a scoreless tie in another non-league test. The Rams are now 3-0-1 for the year.

Girls' Volleyball

The Presentation girls' volleyball team knocked off Del Mar and Oak Grove in a pair of matches in the Mt. Hamilton Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League last week.

The Panthers whipped the Dons 15-8, 15-0, 15-3 and handled the Eagles 15-1, 15-4, 15-6 to improve to 2-0 in the division and 9-5 for the year.

Willow Glen, meanwhile, lost to Yerba Buena 15-7, 15-13, 15-11 to slip to 1-1 in the West Valley Division of the BVAL.

Spartan Hall of Fame Classic

San Jose State University baseball stars of the past Rich Guardino (1974-77) and Chris Pedretti (1978-79) will be the inductees during ceremonies at the 12th annual Spartan Baseball Hall of Fame Golf Classic Oct. 24 at the Santa Clara Golf Course.

The tourney begins with registration at 11 a.m., a putting contest at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The cost for the best ball scramble is $140 and includes a cart, green fees, tee prizes, lunch and dinner. The cost is $45 for the dinner only. The reservation deadline is Oct. 13.

Annual Ram Run

The annual Ram Run returns to Willow Glen on Oct. 4, when runners race through neighborhood streets before heading to the finish line on the high school track.

The cost is $20 in advance or $25 on race day. The race begins at 9 a.m.

Coaches Clinic

Baseball coaches Mike Cummins of Santa Clara University, Sam Piraro of San Jose State University and Rich Hill of USF will be the guest speakers at the Northern California baseball coaches clinic set for Oct. 12, 9 a.m.- 3:15 p.m., at Cupertino High School. Fencing Classes
