Celebration Activities

To celebrate its centennial, Willow Glen Baptist Church has planned three days of activities to bring together past and present church members and pastors.

* Centennial Banquet on Oct. 9, from 6 to 9:45 p.m. at Bethel Church, 1201 Winchester Ave. The banquet includes a concert by pianist Dave Talbott.

* Centennial Barbecue on Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Willow Glen Baptist Church, 1292 Minnesota Ave. The barbecue is a joint event with its three daughter churches--Bay Horizons Church, Cornerstone Church and East Valley Church.

* Centennial Worship Service on Oct. 11, at 10:30 a.m. The special guest at the service will be Bob Ricker, president of the Baptist General Conference, the denomination of WGBC. After the service, a 100th-anniversary photo will be taken of the congregation in front of the church.

* Centennial Birthday Party on Oct. 11, at 6 p.m. The party will include a birthday cake, music and testimonies by people about the impact God has had on their lives through the church.
