Operation Adopt-A-Doll
Susanne Knott and her students make dolls for children whose parents are in the armed forces
|
Leaning over a long table, 10 women sit absorbed in their craft, making porcelain dolls. Several women work on delicate faces; some women brush color onto limbs; one woman pins together an outfit; and almost everyone in the ongoing Wednesday class has signed up for Operation Adopt-A-Doll. Operation Adopt-A-Doll is the brainchild of Willow Glen Adopt-A-Doll storeowner Susanne Knott. She plans to make and give away 100 porcelain dolls to children whose parents are in the armed forces and have been sent overseas. Knott came up with the idea after the terrorist attacks on Sept.11.
