    Siebel Champions

    John McEnroe and Jimmy Connors will renew their long-standing rivalry with a special singles match that will highlight the second annual Siebel Champions tennis tournament on Oct. 17-21 at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium at Stanford.

    McEnroe and Scott Davis, both former Stanford stars, will return for the event along with Connors, Mats Wilander, John Lloyd, Pat Cash, Henri Leconte and Petr Korda.

    The tournament begins with two matches on Wednesday, Oct. 17, and concludes with the singles and doubles finals on Sunday, 1 p.m. McEnroe and Connors will play their singles match at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

    Also featured during the five days of tennis action will be a series of clinics: Women's Day Clinic, Oct. 19, 10 a.m., $60, includes lunch and a ticket to afternoon matches; Learn From the Best Clinic, Oct. 19, 5 p.m., ages 18 and up, $45, includes ticket to afternoon matches; and Kids Day Clinic, Oct. 21, 10 a.m., ages 14 and under, free.

    Halloween Run

    The annual Halloween Run returns to Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy on Oct. 27. Registration begins at 7:30 p.m. with the 5K run to begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 10K to get under way at 9 a.m. There will be awards for the best costumes.

    Club Yahoo! Volleyball

    Volleyball tryouts and clinics for Club Yahoo! will be held Nov. 4 and 11 for girls ages 13-17, at San Jose State University under the direction of Club Yahoo! coach Gary Mano, who is also a coach for the Spartans.

    Tryouts will be held Nov. 4, 8:30 a.m., and Nov. 11, 1 p.m., for girls ages 13-14, and Nov. 4, 11:30 a.m., and Nov. 11, 3 p.m., for girls ages 16-17.

    Volleyball Tryouts

    The Apex Volleyball Club is currently holding tryouts for boys ages 12-18. No experience is necessary.

    Practices will be held in Los Gatos and Saratoga, and teams will play weekend tournaments in Northern California.
