Light, camera, action on two plays from two WG high schools

Willow Glen High School drama department presents The Cripple of Inishmaan, a play by Martin McDonagh. The play tells the story of a teenage boy in an island village off the Irish coast with Hollywood dreams.

Tickets are $5. The play runs Nov. 12, 13, 19 and 20 at 7 p.m. in Willow Glen High School's Little Theater, 2001 Cottle Ave. For more information, call 535-6330.

Presentation High does Shakespeare in bell bottoms, in the school's production of The Taming of the Shrew. For an added comedic twist, the drama department has set the Bard's humorous love story in the '60s. Presentation's liberal interpretation pits traditionalism against feminism as Petruchio attempts to tame his bride, Kate.

    Tickets are $8. Performances will be 7 p.m., Nov. 18; 7 p.m., Nov. 19; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., Nov. 20; and 2 p.m., Nov. 21. For more information, or to reserve tickets, call 264-1664.
