Sandbags available from the Santa Clara Valley Water District
With all the rain in the valley in the past weeks, the Santa Clara Valley Water District has already opened some of its sandbag distribution sites.
"Because of the early rains that occurred, we decided to go ahead and set up the sites early," said water district public relations officer Teddy Morse.
Morse said that the district planned to make sandbags available Dec. 1, but instead opened the distribution sites Oct. 30.
A Willow Glen distribution site is located at 445 Willow St. Empty sandbags are available, and Willow Glen residents can use the sand also available at the distribution site to fill the bags themselves, Morse said.
Morse said that filled sandbags are also available behind the water district's headquarters at 5904 Winfield Blvd.
