The Willow Glen ResidentSports BriefsAlumni Game Yesterday's best will challenge the best basketball players of today at Willow Glen when the high school presents its alumni game on Nov. 25. Alumni will take on the Willow Glen frosh-soph team at 5:30 p.m., and more recent Willow Glen graduates will face the current Ram varsity at 7 p.m. Alumni players interested in participating should call Willow Glen basketball coach Todd Meeker at 535-6277. Panthers in playoffs The Presentation girls' volleyball team earned a place in the Central Coast Section Division II playoffs. The Panthers, 22-11 for the year, will open post-season play on Nov. 15, 11 a.m., against Piedmont Hills (17-14) at Leland. The Panthers ended up 9-3 and in second place in the Mt. Hamilton Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League this fall. Presentation, behind the play of junior Danielle LeBaron, claimed its ninth league win with a 15-6, 15-12, 14-16, 15-5 win over Leland last week. Katie Rowe, Michelle Hagen, Lisa Sunseri and freshmen Linzy Caton and Amy Pfeiffer are other top players for the Panthers. Bienemann stars Cassie Bienemann poured in 13 goals in two games to lead the Presentation girls' water polo team to back-to-back wins over Santa Teresa and Live Oak last week. Bienemann tossed in nine points in a 17-3 win over the Saints. Lisa Knott popped four goals in the win, Jennifer Allen had three and Tarryn Knight hit one. The Panthers improved to 18-7 for the year and 5-1 in the division with a 9-6 win over Live Oak. Bienemann led the squad with four goals, and Knott added three. Allen and Knight also scored in the win. Elizabeth Travis and Amy Buchanan hit two apiece and Jennifer Rohwer and Quinn Cowsert popped a goal each, but the Willow Glen girls' water polo team dropped an 11-6 decision to Silver Creek in the Santa Teresa Division of the BVAL. The loss left the Rams 0-3 in the division. Rams split The Willow Glen girls' field hockey team split a pair of games last week, beating Saratoga 4-1 before losing to Live Oak 1-0, to move to 4-4-2 in the Santa Teresa Division of the BVAL. Junior Erin Booth knocked in two goals, and Kristen Rovai had a goal and an assist in the win over the Falcons. Kellie Arnone also scored for the Rams, and Nicki Garcia added an assist.
