Speeding on Curtner is also a big problem

Thanks to the Curtner Avenue resident who put signs on every corner from Newport Avenue to Cherry Avenue that gently asks drivers to slow down. The signs say, "What's the Hurry?," "Slow Down," "This is a Neighborhood" and "We Thank You."

Speeding on Curtner Avenue is terrible, especially between Lincoln and Cherry avenues. There is no stop sign or traffic signal for several very long blocks, and cars pick up speed. There are no warning signs that there is a signal at Cottle Avenue, and it is at times hard to see.

I read articles about speeding on Lincoln and Pine avenues and how incensed people are about it, but there are no articles about speeding on Curtner Avenue. We are also a neighborhood. There is a greater chance of someone being seriously injured or dying due to the speeding problem on Curtner Avenue than on Pine or Lincoln avenues.

I applaud my neighbor who put up the signs. Please heed the gentle messages and don't speed on Curtner Avenue.
