Middle school to hold talent show
Willow Glen Middle School will hold its talent show Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Little Theater on the school's campus, 2105 Cottle Ave.
The event is open to the public and features performances by both students and staff members. Tickets cost $5 and are available at the school's main office from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. or at Hicklebee's Books, 1378 Lincoln Ave. Proceeds will go to help three families who lost their homes in a fire earlier this year. Willow Street takes donations
Willow Street Wood-Fired Pizza sponsors a food drive through Dec. 19 to support the Second Harvest Food Bank.
The restaurant's three locations, in Willow Glen, 1072 Willow St., Los Gatos and the Westgate Shopping Center, are drop-off locations for non-perishable food donations to the nonprofit organization that serves more than 120,000 people each month and distributed 23.8 million pounds of food last year. Willow Street will acknowledge each donation with a coupon for a free appetizer.
Nonprofit sponsors sleeping-bag drive
The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Santa Clara County is requesting donations of $19.99 to purchase a sleeping bag for someone sleeping outside, in a shelter or in a garage this winter.
Checks should be annotated with "sleeping bags for the homeless" and be sent to SVdP, 2040 S. Seventh St., San Jose, 95112. Donations are requested as soon as possible. For more information call 408.298.7290.
