Quicksilver Volleyball

The Quicksilver Volleyball Club will hold final tryouts for the club season on Dec. 5 for girls ages 12-14 and Dec. 6 for girls ages 15-18 at the main gym at San Jose City College. The registration fee is $25 per player. For information, call Phil Beltran at 265-5172 (pager, 697-0022).

Pitching Clinic

Former local fast-pitch superstar Whitney Floyd will host lessons and clinics for girls' softball pitchers. Floyd starred locally at Lynbrook High School and went on to All-American status at UC-Berkeley. She is now on the coaching staff at Santa Clara University. For more information, call 554-5063.

Hockey Clinic

The Central Branch of the YMCA will host a series of roller hockey clinics for boys and girls ages 7-12 on Dec. 5, 12 and 19, 9 a.m.-noon each day. The registration deadline is Dec. 4. For more information, call 298-1717.

Softball Tryouts

The San Jose Lynx will hold tryouts for their 10-and-under and 12-and-under girls' summer A league teams. Tryouts are slated for Dec. 6, 1 p.m., at the Willow Glen High School field. Coaches are also needed for the summer season.

WG Little League

The Willow Glen Little League is holding signups for the 1999 season. The league is open to boys and girls ages 5-18. Players must provide an original birth certificate and a utility bill for proof of residency when they register. The league is also looking for volunteer umpires, managers and coaches. Pacific Signups

The San Jose Pacific Pony baseball league will hold signups for the 1999 season on Dec. 5, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., at the Round Table Pizza Parlor at the corner of Camden and Kooser. Players ages 5-14 are eligible and must provide a birth certificate at the registration.

Baseball Camps

A pair of Stanford holiday baseball camps will be offered in December. Hitting, pitching and defensive instruction will be offered over Christmas vacation on Dec. 20-22 and Dec. 27-29.

The baseball camps are open to players ages 13-18, and the cost is $100 per session.
