    U.S Marine Corps and Realtor hold toy drive

    In coordination with the U.S. Marines, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage of Northern California will be collecting new, unwrapped gifts for its local Toys for Tots campaign. Coldwell Banker offices in the Bay Area will serve as collection centers from Nov. 30 through Dec. 19. Toys for Tots was founded in 1947 in Los Angeles, and since then, the U.S. Marines have distributed over 243 million toys to needy children across the nation. Members of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will pick up the toys from each Coldwell Banker collection center and distribute them to charitable organizations and social welfare agencies in the area. Toys may be dropped off at the Coldwell Banker office at 1021 Blossom Hill Road, San Jose. For more information, call 408.264.5000.

    Architect firm will be collecting toys for kids

    In coordination with the San Jose downtown Rotary, Garcia Teague Architecture and Interiors will be collecting toys for donation to Toys for Tots. Bring new, unwrapped toys to the Garcia Teague studio, 1998 The Alameda, Suite 1, by Dec. 12. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to noon.     Santa Claus will visit Prusch Park on Dec. 9

    Santa Claus will visit Prusch Park, 647 S. King Road, San Jose, on Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children can visit with Santa and his elves, have their picture taken and create a variety of holiday crafts. Admission and craft activities are free. Pictures with Santa are $2 and buttons are $3. For more information, call 408.926.5555.
